Parents want what's best for their children, including supporting their athletic development and having a good sport experiences. However, nearly all parents receive no formal education on being a good sport parenting. Values, ethics, and training practices collide for sport parents--do we need to do this travel competition or showcase? Am I pressuring my child too much? Should I contradict the coach? Is this behavior normal or desirable? In this Sport and Family section, SPKN has curated quality content to help sport parents and guardians make informed decisions. Our interviews with sport professionals shine a light on the roles and relationships parents need to consider in sport, as well as provides accurate and valuable evidence on how to help, or hinder, young people's holistic development.
